In 1967, my father accepted a position as a professor at KU, and moved our family to Lawrence. All I knew of Kansas was that it was the “Land of Oz”! Over forty years later, it has become the place of cherished memories, dear friends, and dreams come true. There truly is “no place like home”.
There are a great many things involved in what makes a place a home. The physical structure is only part of what it means to buy or sell a home. Whether it is helping educate first time home buyers, as they strive to achieve the goal of home ownership, helping clients secure their dream home, or facilitate the sale of a home to move up, down, or leave Lawrence. I am committed to listening to your needs and helping you each step of the way. Although my career in real estate came later in life, I believe all my life experiences help me better serve my clients. I graduated from KU with a degree in education and taught in Kansas City and Lawrence schools. Because of this education background, I place a high value on continued education and training, as well the desire to communicate so that clients understand every step of the process. A home based business helped me transition into the business world after many years at home raising a family.Yes, there is life outside of work! I have been blessed with sharing life with the love of my life, and husband of 25 years, Doug Stephens. We had the privilege of building our family through adoption and the joy (and challenge) of raising three sons, Justin (22), Caleb (19), and Zach (15). I have served on the First Presbyterian Preschool Board, the First Session Chair to the FPC Education Committee, FPC Child Care Committee, and board member of Mother to Mother of Douglas County. I am currently a member of Morningstar Church and the Lawrence Autism Society.
